Change a dinner without losing prepared food
Apply confirmed pantry quantities and choose the components to make ahead. After cooking, record each completed batch with its finish time and actual storage. Its allocated raw pantry stock is consumed once. The original serving count, equal shares and preparation time stay fixed when dinners change.
Choose a replacement with a complete recipe. Reapply the plan to check every ingredient and equipment requirement. A failed exclusion match never removes your restriction.
Skipping a dinner keeps its prepared share in What remains and removes that dinner’s unprepared ingredients from future shopping. Restoring the dinner reuses that share within its original storage window. Additional dinners cannot exceed the recorded batch’s shares; start fresh for a new batch.
Already prepared amounts are raw-equivalent accounting credits, not cooked weights. They are deducted before calculating shortages and package purchases. The prep session checks recorded batches; each dinner card shows how to finish with its labelled share.
Each component has its own storage instructions. An earlier product use-by or opened-food limit still applies. A refrigerated component cannot be reassigned beyond its original window. Only an eligible batch recorded as promptly frozen can use the later freezer path; freezing does not recover food already kept too long.
Download the portion labels and leftovers list, or print the complete plan. Y/N on a label means one of N equal shares of your actual measured batch Y. Dates on planned labels are estimates until you record the batch’s actual finish.
Shopping changes describe the list, not whether you already bought anything. Add purchases to your remaining raw pantry stock with confirmed quantity and state before rebuilding. Package surplus follows actual product labels; it is not guaranteed usable next week.
