Add measured garlic when the beans, pasta or soup are ready for it
Keep a small garlic portion attached to its dinner instead of putting every aromatic into the pan at once. Two bean dishes briefly warm minced garlic in oil, while the roasted pepper soup softens it in liquid.
Measure the part you can use
Peel the cloves and remove any parts you will discard, then weigh the edible raw garlic before mincing. The two-serving toast needs 8g, zucchini ribbon pasta 8g and pepper soup 10g: 26g altogether. An 18g prepared supply leaves an 8g gap. Buy enough to provide that extra usable weight; the gross weight of a bulb includes skin and other trimming. Clove sizes vary, so a clove count does not confirm these grams.
Choose the texture you want
Start the toast spread gently
Have the drained white beans ready before heating the oil. The full toast recipe warms its 8g minced garlic over medium-low heat for about 30 seconds, until fragrant without browning, then adds the beans and a splash of processing water. Mash the warmed beans as directed. Keeping the next ingredients beside the stove prevents the small garlic pieces from waiting in hot oil while you open a can.
Prepare pasta before the short garlic stage
Reserve the second 8g portion for the zucchini pasta. Shave the zucchini, cook and drain the pasta, and retain a little cooking water first. The sauce then briefly warms garlic before beans and a spoonful of that water enter. Add zucchini at its later stage and lemon off the heat. Garlic does not need to remain in the hot pan for the entire pasta-boiling time.
Simmer the soup portion with liquid
For the pepper soup, reserve 10g minced garlic while the peppers and onion roast. The recipe adds garlic to the soup pot with the chopped roasted vegetables, beans, tomatoes, paprika and measured water; it is not roasted loose on the tray. Keep the subsequent gentle simmer and check that the garlic is tender. This is a different cooking path from the two brief oil stages.
When the result is not quite right
If garlic colours rapidly during a brief oil stage, reduce the heat and check the pan before continuing. Follow the selected recipe rather than extending every aromatic stage to match the onion’s cooking time. Jarred garlic paste, garlic powder and garlic mixed with oil are different products; their gram weights do not establish an equivalent fresh-garlic portion.
Allocate your garlic
Choose dinners in the list below. Stock is assigned in that order; any shortfall remains visible. This only totals garlic, so check every full recipe for its other ingredients and method.
26g needed · 18g from stock · 8g shortfall · 0g unassigned
| Recipe | Need | From stock | Shortfall |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creamy white bean and tomato toast | 8g | 8g | 0g |
| Zucchini ribbon and lemon bean pasta | 8g | 8g | 0g |
| Roast pepper and white bean soup | 10g | 2g | 8g |
No dates, freshness assessment or prepared-batch credit are applied here. This worksheet stays separate from your saved week. Select usable food and schedule it within its actual storage limits.
The week opens with its own saved settings. Add your stock there to deduct it from the full shopping list.
Keep and prepare your stock
Keep unused garlic under suitable whole-bulb or prepared-garlic conditions and follow the actual product instructions. Once garlic enters a bean spread, soup or pasta sauce, that prepared component follows the full dinner’s cooling and storage plan. This worksheet does not provide a preservation method for homemade garlic in oil.
Avoid this mix-up
The weighed portions belong to complete dinners, not an extra shared garlic garnish. If you change the selected dishes or servings, update the allocation before chopping; adding more garlic alone does not scale the rest of the meal.
Use the storage guide for prepared batches, and follow actual product labels. Our recipe and quantity checks are not a real cooking trial.
