Measure fritter flour after controlling the mixture’s moisture
Reserve the wheat flour that binds red lentil and carrot fritters, then drain the lentils and squeeze the carrot as the recipe directs. Keep raw flour and uncooked batter away from the cold yogurt dip and the serving plate.
Measure the part you can use
Red lentil and carrot fritters uses 40g dry wheat flour for two recipe servings. Weigh the flour itself, before adding lentils, carrot or egg. The illustrative 25g supply is 15g short; an example 500g bag covers the gap with 485g flour unassigned. Four servings need 80g and leave a 55g gap against that stock. A smaller actual bag may suit this small requirement better. Finished batter weight is a different measurement.
Choose the texture you want
Drain the lentils before reaching for more binder
Cook the recipe’s red lentils until soft, drain through a fine sieve for five minutes while pressing gently, and spread them to stop steaming. Grate the carrot and squeeze out excess juice. These are the recipe’s moisture-control steps. A wet lentil base or unsqueezed carrot should not be corrected by adding an unmeasured pile of flour.
Mix the measured flour and allow the stated rest
Combine the drained lentils and carrot with the flour, beaten egg, cumin, salt and pepper, then rest for five minutes. The mixture should hold a mound. Follow the recipe’s instruction to remove excess liquid if it remains loose. When making one serving, beat the egg first and use half its edible quantity as the complete recipe specifies.
Cook small fritters all the way through
Form the stated 6cm-wide, 1cm-thick fritters and fry in the measured oil, reserving some for later batches. Turn after the underside releases and continue until golden, firm and cooked through. If the outside browns before the centre sets, lower the heat and continue cooking. Keep the cold yogurt-and-lemon dip separate, with clean serving utensils.
When the result is not quite right
FDA treats ordinary flour as a raw food. Do not taste the flour mixture or uncooked batter, even if the lentils were cooked first. Clean hands, bowls, utensils and work surfaces after contact with raw flour or batter; keep flour dust away from ready-to-eat food. A browned surface alone is not the complete recipe’s cooked-through check.
Allocate your wheat flour
Choose dinners in the list below. Stock is assigned in that order; any shortfall remains visible. This only totals wheat flour, so check every full recipe for its other ingredients and method.
40g needed · 25g from stock · 15g shortfall · 0g unassigned
| Recipe | Need | From stock | Shortfall |

| Red lentil and carrot fritters | 40g | 25g | 15g |
No dates, freshness assessment or prepared-batch credit are applied here. This worksheet stays separate from your saved week. Select usable food and schedule it within its actual storage limits.
The week opens with its own saved settings. Add your stock there to deduct it from the full shopping list.
Keep and prepare your stock
Keep unused flour in its original packaging or a clearly labelled container under the actual storage instructions. The supported advance component for these fritters contains only cooked lentils and water. Flour, grated carrot and egg are added at the dinner finish. Completed fritters follow the recipe’s prompt cooling and storage instructions; a flour packet date does not set their lifetime.
Avoid this mix-up
This wheat-flour binder is different from the oats in black bean burgers. Do not exchange them by equal weight or change the recipe’s measured binder to hide moisture. Check actual flour and other ingredient labels for exclusions; this worksheet provides no allergy-safe certification.
Use the storage guide for prepared batches, and follow actual product labels. Our recipe and quantity checks are not a real cooking trial.
